Rumors will be adding 2:30 sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
effective Monday October 10. This was announced tonight at the midnight
tournament. (08-11-05) A
report from P. S. New
poker schedule: Mon., Wed., Fri. - Midnight; Tues. - 2:30 &
7:30; Thurs. - 2:30 & 10:45; Sat. 10:45. Session cash prizes remain
the same. (08-11-05) A review
from P. S. Here is a typical midnight tournament blind schedule.
Keep in mind that the time before closing is short so blinds for midnight
tournaments are Also, they will tweak the
blind times as needed if they start late. 25/50 - 18 min; 50/100 - 15 min;
100/200 - 12 min; 200/400 - 10 min; 300/600 - 10 min; 500/1,000 - 9 min;
1,000/2,000 - 9 min; 2,000/4,000 - 8 min; 3,000/6,000 - 7 min; 5,000/10,000 -
7 min; 10,000/20,000 - 6 min; 20,000/40,000 until the tournament is over.. One thing that would help
their tournaments move more quickly in the late rounds is to color up their
black ($1,000) chips to green ($5,000) chips. This would simplify play
which would speed the tournament up and allow them to finish more easily
before closing time. (08-06-05) A review
from P.S. Primarily a pool establishment. The Thursday 10:30
p.m. poker tournament had to be delayed until around 11 p.m. when the 3-ball
tournament finished. They set up five poker tables using portable felt
tops. Each can accommodate eight players. The table at the far
north end is very dimly lit and does not utilize a poker table top. The
top is a smooth black plastic. Dealing is an adventure because cards
slide easily without friction. The table south of the bar which they
use for the final table has some chairs where you sink very low and can
hardly see the table top. At some point when blinds
are high (possibly $2,000/$4,000) the blind period goes to 7 minutes!
Needless to say this gets bizarre results with players going all in and side
pots needing to be figured out. It's not unusual for only two hands to
be played before blinds go up again. The automated system shut itself off
when blinds reach Session cash
prizes: 6-10 players - $10 for 1st. 11-20 players - $10 for 1st, $5 for
2nd. 21-30 players - $20 for 1st, $10 for 2nd. 31 or more
players - $20 for 1st, $10 for 2nd, $5 for 3rd. Pool points: 5 for
every in-house league match played; 5 for each 3-ball tournament; 5 for each
Round Robin tournament. Poker points: 5 for
playing; 30 for 1st; 20 for 2nd; 10 for 3rd. Finals will be August 23rd
at 7:30 playing for $1,000 total purse -1st-$500, 2nd-$300, 3rd-$150,
4th-$50. Top 40 points holders will participate in the finals
tournament. (05-29-05) A report from G. Played at Rumors
again yesterday and clarified with the lady there that only the top 3 places
each session qualify for points. (Last time I checked your page on
Rumors it said 5 places receive points) Currently it looks like it
takes about 70 points to be in the top 40 necessary for the $$$$ tourney in
August. © 2005-7 |
